Last 14 March 2009 members of the Cebu Association of Media Practitioners, Inc. (CAMP) led by its President Jun Alcover visited Mt. Manunggal, the site where the late Pres. Ramon Magsaysay's plane (with the body name Mt. Pinatubo) crashed 52 yeas ago.
Being the 'death place' of Pres. Magsaysay who is popularly known as the 'idolo ng masa' - Mt. Manunggal has a valuable segment in our nation's history. It is (now) a promising tourism destination and a must see to all lovers of nature. But yet, many things must be done to improve the place.
We hope that the National Historical Commission and other responsible government agencies will make prompt action to promote in order to protect and preserve Mt. Manunggal.
